The 20th world congress on Disability and Oral Health (IADH) will be hosted by the Dept. of Paediatric Dentistry & Special Care of Ghent University on August 25-29, 2010 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) of Ghent, Belgium.

In addition the department will celebrate 25 years of training programmes in Paediatric Dentistry and Special Care.

The congress will be organised in collaboration with several central European colleagues: The Flemish task force for Special Care Dentistry (WTB), the Belgian Academy for Paediatric Dentistry (BAPD), the Dutch Society for Oral Health and Disability (VBTGG), the Dutch Society for Paediatric Dentistry (MWK), the German Dental Society for Patients with Disabilities (DAZB) and the Swiss Society for Disabled and Elderly (SGZ66).

The congress theme will be CARIHG for Quality of life. In continuation of the thinking process on the theme, “Limits and Limitations”, as adopted for the Congress in Santos 2008, it must be the ultimate goal for professionals in special care dentistry to achieve the best possible quality of life for their patients.
