DINOH is a network system regarding Disability and Oral Health. It offers different possibilities for participation, depending on users´ interests or involvement.
DINOH gathers information about pathologies and therapeutic approaches for disabilities and oral health, based on scientific evidence. It promotes exchange and discussion of cases, a continuous update of knowledge and makes it possible to share concerns among those involved in this field, framed by a multidisciplinary approach.
Informatics and multimedia resources allow to achieve a dynamic flow of information and sustain the principle of collective construction of knowledge.
Aims
- To continously gather updated information about disability and oral health with a multidisciplinary approach. For that purpose, DINOH offers a number of interactive courses available in Internet. The whole material is edited using different multimedia resources for the theoretical and practical aspects of every subject. Users will learn or update knowledge concerning disability and oral health based on a multidisciplinary approach.
- To create a database regarding orofacial conditions and therapeutic resources based on scientific evidence and clinical experience. DINOH encourage the participation of those professionals, associations, institutions and centers that have contributed to this speciallity with their experiences and scientific knowledge.
-To promote professional exchange of knowledge and concerns within a scientific community. The site aims to become a space for discussion and exchange of scientific knowledge about oral characteristics and therapeutic experiences in different medical diagnosis by means of a variety of on-line services besides of the interactive courses, such as an open forum.
- To connect people or associations with particular or specific interests. DINOH will function as a database of specialized dentists or other professionals who would like to be contacted by other collegues that are interested in their work.
